Is GenieHouse student care or tuition?

Both, 2-in-1. Academic student care is the weekday care you need and the academic support you would otherwise arrange separately. Your child is with us every weekday from 1:30 to 7:00 PM. Homework gets finished first, then the rest of the afternoon goes into a learning plan built for your child across English, Maths, Science and Chinese. It is the daily support most children need. If one subject ever needs a specialist, Geniebook CAMPUS classes run in the same centres.

How is it different from the student care we have now?

Most student care keeps your child safe and busy until you arrive. Homework may get done. Nobody looks at what came after. At GenieHouse the homework is finished with a teacher in the room to help when your child is stuck, and the remaining hours go into personalised practice and lessons chosen for your child. You get the Personalised Learning Plan every month. That last part is the difference you will feel first.

What are the operating hours and fees for GenieHouse?

We operate from 1:30 PM to 7 PM on weekdays. Our launch rate is S$600 per month for the first eight sign-ups at each outlet, covering all four core subjects. After the launch seats are filled, standard registration is S$780 per month.

Who is actually teaching my child?

Geniebook teachers, in the room every afternoon. The lesson content, practice and explanations come from Geniebook's platform, built by MOE curriculum specialists. The teachers keep your child on their plan, help when they are stuck and build the relationship that makes a child want to come back tomorrow. Every teacher completes structured training before working with children.

What do I get each month?

A Personalised Learning Plan for each subject: topics your child has mastered, topics still weak and what we will work on next. You also see day-to-day activity in the Geniebook app. You will know by week four whether it is working, not at the end-of-term report card.

What happens during school holidays?

GenieHouse is open every MOE school holiday: June, September and the November to December break. Optional morning care from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM is available at $20 a day before GST for families who need the full day.

What if it does not work out?

Talk to us first. A small change to the learning plan usually settles it. If you still want to withdraw, send a written notice and your deposit covers the one-month notice period after your current billing cycle.

What does it cost to enrol in GenieHouse, in full?

Enrolment comprises three components: A one-time registration fee of S$80. A security deposit equal to one month's fee (S$600 subject to GST at the founding rate or higher at the standard rate). A recurring monthly fee of S$600 (subject to GST) at the founding member rate or S$780 at the standard rate. This monthly fee covers all four core subjects with no hidden per-subject add-ons. The only optional cost is holiday morning care (7:30 AM to 1:30 PM) at S$20 per day before GST.
