Primary 2
At Primary 2, the priority remains the learning of essential skills and the establishment of a strong foundation to help students prepare for further education. Similar to Primary 1, students do not have to sit for examinations or undergo graded assessments. Instead, they are assessed through non-weighted assessments that allow teachers to track progress and provide relevant support where helpful. Designed with the goal of providing students with a well-rounded learning experience, the Primary 1 & 2 curriculum encourages learning and exploration without examination stress.
English
Building on the foundation of Primary 1, students will be taking a closer look at the advanced fundamentals of the English Language. Beyond learning how to tell a subject from an object, students are introduced to a series of pronouns, determiners, prepositions, conjunctions, adverbs, and the basics of composition writing. The goal is to help students develop the ability to apply grammatical knowledge beyond the word, phrase, and sentence level.
Maths
Similar to Primary 1, the Primary 2 Mathematics syllabus can be broadly divided into 3 categories: Numbers and Algebra, Measurements and Geometry, and Statistics. It builds on what students have learnt in Primary 1 by expanding the range of numbers (up to 1000) and introducing more advanced concepts such as fraction and decimal notation into the equation. On top of that, students are also exposed to new topics such as Mass and Volume.
